How would you react if you had the chance to meet your favorite celebrity, entertainer, athlete, politician or spiritual leader? We think it’s safe to say the word “starstruck” would sum up our emotions perfectly. There’s something about meeting a person with legendary qualities that tends to leave us at a loss for words, creating a “precious” memory that lasts a lifetime.
In 2012, Carolyn had the honor of meeting one of her personal idols, His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Not only did she meet him, she also gifted him the first 14kt gold-filled ALEX AND ANI Precious bangle with a bead inscribed “ONE PEOPLE.” It was a beautiful expression of love and admiration for all he has done in the world. This bangle is truly unique and meaningful in that it is one of two ever made. Carolyn wears the other, a constant reminder of that special day.
Carolyn is inspired by the Dalai Lama’s mindful ways, particularly his commitment to spreading peace, love and understanding. He is respectful of the world we live in and strives to make it better through his compassionate teachings. He recognizes the beauty of our natural environment and raises awareness for its preservation for future generations, something Carolyn is thoughtful of in the manufacturing of ALEX AND ANI products.
